So many Massage & Bodywork professionals are advised to market their services on Facebook. When asked how, the answer is presumably to run a Facebook ad.
Did you know there’s a great way to get clients from Facebook groups for free? Well, it isn’t fully free. It won’t cost you money but will require time to do. (Some people argue that time is money.)
In this article, I am going to share a strategy for attracting clients from Facebook groups. I will share some specific tips to follow. But first let’s start with a story of someone who is doing this- and she’s doing it very well.
How History Attracts More Massage Clients
There’s a Spa owner in Southern California who is a History buff. She’s so into History that she frequents lectures and other History events in her local community. After years of intellectual fulfillment, she wondered if there were more groups to join online. After joining a few online forums and finding them not as exciting, she started a Facebook group called “Carlsbad History Hounds”.
Throughout the years the group has existed, there’s been hundreds of threads that have led to laughs, debates, and massages. You see, many of the group members became “friends of the Spa” and repeat massage clients.
How did it happen? Easy. She stayed true to herself on all the history topics; sharing her opinions, and staying relevant to the idea. But as people became more familiar with her take on History, they visited her personal profile because they were curious about her as a person.
Then they scheduled massage sessions after they learned what she did.
She never once mentioned what type of work she did in the History Hounds Facebook group. But she did have a link to her spa and had some photos of her massaging on her personal profile. That was enough to peak people’s interest and add her Spa experience to their own personal history. (If you can, try to share a few lives of you sessions too. That’s a great way to show your work and build trust!)
Join a Facebook Group That Matches Your Hobbies or Interests
Can you do the same? Can you join a local Facebook group regarding a certain topic, connect with people there, earn their trust, and have them become clients? I think so.
It’s free. It’s fun (because you’re discussing something you are interested in). And it’s fitting.
I don’t recommend starting a new group because it will take time to attract members, but if you don’t find one that is active, definitely start one. You’ll have a great time connecting with people about stuff you’re interested in and it will be a great way to help people learn more about your Massage services!
Starting a local group is really easy. Facebook has links posted on your home page to start one. (They want you to be active in Facebook groups. They’re shifting their focus to help groups be more engaging.)
Do you have a hobby or interest you can share with your local community on Facebook? Get crackin’ because this is an opportunity waiting for you!
